When Michael Hodgson, Ph.D, Santa Monica, was invited to attend and judge the May 2008 Academy of Art University School of Graphic Design Spring Show and Portfolio Review, he headed up to San Francisco, camera in hand, preparing to capture his experience on film. Now that video can be found all over the web including YouTube, Vimeo, GoGreenTube, Google Video as well as Ph.D's website.

The video provides a glimpse of what it's like to be part of Spring Show's exciting energy, with looks at student portfolios and remarks from show attendees like Jim Ales, Montery Bay Aquarium, and Marc English, Marc English Design.

Phil Hamlett, Graduate Director, Academy of Art University School of Graphic Design will moderate a panel discussion at the San Francisco Public Library's screening of the film Helvetica.

// ACADEMY OF ART UNIVERSITY GRAD ED O'BRIEN NAMED ADC YOUNG GUN 6

Ed O'Brien (BFA 2003), of Hybrid Design, was recently named by the Art Directors Club as an ADC Young Gun 6. Out of hundreds of entries from 46 countries, fifty young professionals under the age of 30 were selected to receive the title. 

Ed's winning work: Impact Teen Drivers Campaign, Super7: The Book, and Nike Responsibility Report and Site.
